Looking Ahead: Expert Senior Care Advice in 2016

The last couple of weeks of the year are a whirlwind for most of us. They can be an especially exhausting marathon for those juggling competing family schedules, travel and all the expectations of the holiday season.
Holidays are often the only occasions when the entire family, or most of it, gathers in one place for a day or a week of reliving old memories and, unfortunately, sometimes reviving old arguments. We sincerely hope you and your family were treated to more of the former than the latter this year.
This is also the time that many of the families we serve have a chance to take stock of their current situation and plan together for the future. Sometimes these conversations can be awkward, to say the least.
It’s hard for most of us to put away our preconceived notions, our executive voice and our natural instinct to make decisions and act on them ourselves.
Expert Senior Care Advice
As the year comes to an end, we’ve been thinking and talking about some of those conversations we’ve had in our own families and some stories other families have shared with us. In the next few weeks, we’ll be kicking off a series of posts about having “tough talks” with our older family members. We’ll offer some expert advice from our credentialed professionals, and will also give some real-world examples of how that conversation has gone very well in some families, and in others … not so much.
If you’ve got questions, we’d love to hear them. Feel free to send us a message, and be sure to follow Caring Hearts on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest to see our expert senior care tips throughout 2016.
Meanwhile, from all of our families to yours, a very Happy New Year and much health and harmony in 2016.
